Meet Logan, a Pharmaceutical Representative who works in the Animal Health industry for Boehringer Ingelheim. Logan is a lifelong animal lover and has been rescuing animals since 2011. Aside from working her full time job, Logan is an avid equestrian and accomplished trainer. Logan has been riding horses since before she could walk, and in 2020 she opened her own private coaching business named Hidden Gem Show Stables. In that same year, she partnered with her client, Murphy, to officially start an animal rescue program. With their strong bond and common goals, Hidden Gem Animal Rescue became a 501(c)3 in 2023!
Meet Murphy, a student at St. Lukes High School who plays Football and competes as an Equestrian for Hidden Gem Show Stables. Murphy has always had a deep love for animals and has dreamt of having her own rescue. Through her riding career, Murphy found Logan, and they bonded over their shared love for animals. This shared interest influenced their partnership, making this rescue a reality when she was only 11 years old in 2020! Murphy has taken a leadership role in the rescue’s marketing, creating and updating this website, managing social media, and fundraising!
We co-founded this amazing organization back 2020. At that time, the barn we were boarding at had a local feral cat colony. The property managers would often leave out food for their cats who eventually settled into a home under their front porch. Soon upon our arrival, one of the cats named one-eye gave birth to 4 sweet kittens, this was her third litter at a very young age.
Initially we set up cameras, food, and water to make sure they were all taken care of, but to give these kittens the best lives possible we knew we needed to trap them. Over the span of a couple months we trapped all the kittens, brought them to the vet for medical attention, and they now live amazing lives in their forever homes. We even caught the momma cat to spay and release. Since this first success we started our organization, Hidden Gem Animal Rescue, and have rescued hundreds of animals since.
Saving those kittens was the spark we needed to fuel our desire to help animals and start our own rescue. Hidden Gem Animal Rescue was born to give animals a second chance to live their very best lives, and we hope you can help us to make an impact on the lives of many more.
